Alexandr Pavlov’s appeal for help
Alexandr Pavlov's appeal for help, addressed to the authorities of EU and Spain.
I, Alexandr Vladimirovich Pavlov, born on 26 October, 1975, kindly request that the authorities of the European Union and Spain provide me assistance and protection, as I have become a victim of political persecution of the Kazakh authorities. These circumstances result from the fact that I used to be the head of the department of personal security of the leadership of BTA Bank, and a personal guard of M. Ablyazov in Great Britain. In addition, until my departure from Kazakhstan in 2009, I was responsible for the selection of security personnel, whose job was to protect the editorial offices of the ‘Respublika’ and ‘Vzglyad’ newspapers.
I am convinced that the Kazakh authorities want to reach me solely with the purpose of forcing me to give false testimony against M. Ablyazov, and V. Ketebayev, as well as journalists and civil activists. Therefore, if I am rendered to Kazakhstan, please treat all of my testimonies as invalid and obtained under torture or by blackmailing my family.
