Appeal Court sets date for trial

novOn Thursday, 7 November at the Court of Appeal of Aix en Provence, there will be a short hearing with Mukhtar Ablyazov present in order to set the date for the Court’s examination of Russia’s extradition request.

In December 2016 Mukhtar Ablyazov’s extradition was refused, he was released from prison and granted a political refugee status in September 2020. Earlier, a number of his relatives and associates had been given international protection in various European countries. Thus, continuing to campaign for human rights in Kazakhstan and the rights of political refugees amongst them, we consider our mission largely fulfilled.
