Kasparov on the possible extradition of Ablyazov
On his Twitter account Garry Kasparov has spoken out sharply against the possibility of Mukhtar Ablyazov’s extradition as requested by Russia and Ukraine.
According to Kasparov, the extradition of Ablyazov would forever be a disgrace to the French judicial system: In Russia he may face a show trial or be a subject of trade between Putin and Nazarbayev.
The Russian oppositionist and chess champion was present at the court hearing on October 17, during which the court examined the Russian extradition for Ablyazov. Kasparov was to act as a defence witness, ultimately the court, however, did not allow it.
