I. Lozano appeals to Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Spain
Spanish press agency Europa Press reports on a letter filed by Deputy Irene Lozano (G.P. Unión Progreso y Democracia) concerning the case of Alexandr Pavlov.
The report drafted by the Judiciary Council concerning the case of a Kazakh opposition’s associate says that Judge Guevara attempted to accelerate the handover of Pavlov after a telephone call from Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Spain. In light of the information, in her appeal filed with the Congress, Lozano requested that the Ambassador be summoned to provide explanations to the government.
As reported by Europa Press, the President of the Audiencia Nacional Court himself states that the Ambassador visited him in relation to Pavlov’s case. During Pavlov’s trial, judges of the Audiencia Nacional were also receiving telephone calls from the Ambassador who offered meetings and collaboration, aimed at bringing about the Kazakh national’s extradition.
