augAleksandr Pavlov is free! This news encouraged everybody who had been struggling for the ex-head of the security service of the Kazakhstani opposition activist Mukhtar Ablyazov. Yesterday, in his phone interview with Respublika, Pavlov told how he had managed to get out of the Spanish prison.

In December 2016 Mukhtar Ablyazov’s extradition was refused, he was released from prison and granted a political refugee status in September 2020. Earlier, a number of his relatives and associates had been given international protection in various European countries. Thus, continuing to campaign for human rights in Kazakhstan and the rights of political refugees amongst them, we consider our mission largely fulfilled.
