Wyborcza: Spaniards and Interpol detain dissident
The portal wyborcza.pl has reported on the detention of the oppositionist and Kazakhstan’s former Minister of Economy, Muratbek Ketebayev to whom Poland granted refugee status.
Ketebayev, together with his wife – head of the opposition portal respublika-kaz.info – was arrested in Madrid where they went to celebrate the New Year. The Spanish authorities did not recognise his so-called Geneva passport issued by the Polish authorities. The activist was detained under a notice from Interpol issued by the Kazakh government.
Ketebayev worked with Ablyazov, founding alongside him, the "Democratic Choice of Kazakhstan".
